ispo Awards 09 honor trends and innovations from the ski, board, and outdoor segments
ispo not only is the world's largest sporting goods trade show, but also a stage for trends as well as an innovation driver. As in prior years many exciting new products are expected to be unveiled at the ispo winter 2009.
The ispo honors the most innovative new developments with a number
of awards. The ispo Outdoor Awards, European Ski Awards, and the ispo
Boardsports Awards are divided into several categories, such as
Outerwear, Hardware, Safety Equipment, or Accessories. The submitted
products are judged by an international jury according to the criteria
Function/Quality, Innovation, User Friendliness, and Design.
The
winning products are introduced to the international press at the ispo
on snow Preview, as well as exhibited at the ispo winter 09 from February 1st to the 4th, 2009.
ispo winter 09 launches first Eco Responsibility Award
As a first at ispo winter 09, the trade show organizers created the new
Eco Responsibility Award! The focus is on the critical subjects of
sustainability, ecology, and environmental awareness!
The award will
honor extraordinary product innovations, which deem sustainability not
just a new lifestyle, but fully endorse ecology in all aspects: from
production, processing, material use to environmentally friendly
transport options and packaging solutions. The international award will be presented to products from the
categories Hardware, Textile, Footwear, and Accessories. A qualified
jury will determine the winners in mid-January; the awards will be
presented during ispo winter 09.
ispo winter 2010 date change
In 2010 ispo winter will be held one week later than usual, from February 7th to 10th. The reason for this modification is a change in the U.S. trade show calendar. SnowSports Industries America (SIA) has decided to hold its SnowSports Tradeshow from January 28th to 31st, 2010, which would present a conflict with ispo winter.
“In order to find the
best possible arrangement for our customers, we spoke to many industry
representatives, and, in accordance with their response, decided to postpone
ispo winter by one week. We are in contact with SIA to discuss options to avoid
future conflicts between the two events. This one-time date change is a
solution for our national and international exhibitors and visitors, allowing
them to take part in both trade shows to be able to cover all important
markets,” explains Tobias Gröber, Business Unit Leader
Consumer Goods for Messe München GmbH.

The ispo
fashion shows are providing the outstanding oppurtunity to present the
state-of-the-art fashion trends to the press and trade visitors. The
professional choreographed fashion shows are showcasing the up-to-date
outdoor and boardsports trends and are meeting point
for numerous trade visitors and reporting mediums.
ispo Best Ager Gallery: Sample Shop, Fashion Show and Top Brands
For the fourth time ispo winter presents the ”ispo Best Ager Gallery” marketplace. A 225 square meter exhibition platform takes the Best Ager segment to a new level. The project involves the setup of a sample shop according to criteria that have already proved themselves in other sectors. The sample shop also offers the perfect environment for exhibitors pioneering this growth market with their products. The scheduled Best Ager fashion show is an appealing innovation.
The new styles enter the catwalk with fresh and
vibrant colors instead of old and gray looks. Additionally, the
supporting program will offer panel discussions with experts from
other business sectors, who will speak about their experiences in this
segment.
As a unique and centralized information platform on the topic of
Best Ager in sports, the Gallery offers industry experts and media
representatives a comprehensive overview of the current and future

ispo winter, international trade fair for sports equipment and fashion, will open its doors for the 69th time from February 1st to February 4th, 2009. To date the exhibition space of 185,000 square meters at the New Munich Trade Fair is fully booked. In 2009 Messe München GmbH expects more than 2,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, who will present their latest trends to an international audience of industry professionals.
These positive
visitor and exhibitor numbers are partially a result of the custom-tailored
trade show concept of ispo winter. Each community holds its own, authentic side
events, and thus generates a unique and individual atmosphere. The event
encompasses the following segments: board_ispo (A1-A3), ispovision (A4),
ski_ispo (B3/B5), sportstyle_ispo (B1/B2), performance_ispo (C3/C4), and SSE (C1/C2).
outdoor_ispo in its entirety will cover
halls A5/A6 and B5/B6, and is directly accessible via the East entrance.

The winners are announced, so, raise the curtains for the 18th ispo BrandNew Awards presented by Thermo°Cool™. In November, the international jury met in Munich to find out who the winners and finalists of the largest newcomer competition in the sports indutry would be.
Young
brands from all fields of the sports industry present their products at the
ispo BrandNew Awards but only the best will receive a free booth at ispo in the
sought-after ispo BrandNew area located at ski_ispo in hall B3 this time.With 283 applications from 22 countries, more young
brands then ever applied for the Awards but only 8 winners and 40 finalists
could be announced by the jury. Loking
at the submissions, the most obvious trend id the abundance of training tools

In Focus: Sustainability - Did you know...
...that the trade fair grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre are based on a pioneering ecology concept, with which we are able to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 7,000 tons per year?
